Starfish Advance — A2P 10DLC Carrier Compliance Reference
This page documents the SMS opt-in consent flow used by Starfish Advance for all merchants enrolled in our SMS messaging program. The consent is captured during electronic execution of our funding agreement and is presented to merchants as a dedicated, optional consent block within that agreement.
When SMS Consent Is Captured
SMS consent is captured during the execution of the Starfish Advance Receivables Purchase Agreement, which every funded merchant signs electronically via SignNow. The consent appears as a dedicated, optional block within Section 7.11(B) of the agreement, separate from all other contractual consents and from the main agreement signature.

The screenshot below shows Section 7.11 of the Starfish Advance Receivables Purchase Agreement, with Subsection (B) — the dedicated SMS Text Message Consent — and the adjacent "SMS — Initial Here" field highlighted. Merchants execute this document electronically via SignNow.
Exact SMS Consent Language
Seller and each Owner expressly consent to receive SMS or MMS text messages from Starfish Advance at the cell phone number(s) Seller or Owner has provided. Messages may include funding confirmation, account servicing communications, payment reminders, payment-issue follow-ups, renewal eligibility notifications, and customer service responses. Message frequency varies based on account activity. Message and data rates may apply. Seller or any Owner may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message received; reply HELP for help. Consent to SMS messaging is not a condition of this Agreement or of receiving funding. Key Compliance Points
- Only Starfish Advance, the registered A2P 10DLC brand, sends SMS messages under this consent. No affiliates, agents, or third parties send messages under this consent.
- The SMS consent block in Section 7.11(B) is a dedicated, standalone consent presented separately from the general communications authorization in Section 7.11(A).
- The "SMS — Initial Here" field is configured as optional in SignNow.
- Merchants can complete the funding agreement and receive funding without initialing the SMS consent block.
- Consent to SMS messaging is not a condition of receiving funding from Starfish Advance, as stated explicitly within the consent block itself and in Section 7.11(C).
- The consent includes all carrier-required disclosures: brand identification, purpose, message types, frequency, message and data rates disclosure, STOP/HELP instructions, and links to Privacy Policy and Terms.
- Cell phone numbers used for SMS are collected during the funding application process.
- Consent is not purchased, transferred, leased, or obtained through any third party.
- Enrollment in the SMS program is verifiable via the SignNow certificate of completion for each executed agreement.
